News: 25-Aug-2008: Mark finishes third in the feature at Quincy and clinches a second place finish in the weekly IMCA points championship. Congratulations to Jason Frankel on his first season championship at Quincy. Early in the evening's racing action, Mark won the special 20 lap trophy dash. Next weekend's racing action: Friday: $2,000 to win Northern All-Stars at Granite City, Saturday: $10,000 to win 19th Annual Prairie Dirt Classic at Fairbury (IL) Speedway, and Sunday: $2,000 to win Quincy Raceways (IMCA) Deery Bros.
24-Aug-2008: Mark wins his 200th career feature in style by winning the $3,000 to win MLRA event at Wheatland, MO on Saturday Aug 23. It is Mark's first MLRA victory and his third feature win this year in an open motor race. After struggling to find the setup with the new outlaw car, Mark and the team reverted back to old standby - a 2004 Rayburn. The change in luck was welcome after mechanical problems one week ago in the heat race negated Mark's #1 qualifying time at the UMP Summernationals make-up event at Morgan County Speedway (Jacksonville) last weekend. The team will swap the open motor out for the spec motor on Sunday in preparation for the IMCA Season Championship event tonight at Quincy Raceways.
03-Aug-2008: Mark races to a strong second place finish in the 27-Jul-2008 make-up feature at Quincy Raceways and a fourth place finish in that evening's regular feature action. On Saturday night, Mark raced to a 9th place finish in a $6,000 to win UMP special held at I-55 Speedway in Pevely, MO after setting the 4th quickest time in qualifying. Unfortunately, the ignition coil failed during the heat race relugating Mark to a 9th place finish and entry into the consolation race where a 2nd place finish earned him a starting spot at the rear of the evening's feature event. Next weekend's racing action: Quincy Raceways (IMCA) on Sunday night.
20-Jul-2008: Mark races to a strong second place finish in the feature at Quincy Raceways Sunday evening after collecting a 2nd place finish in his heat race and a win in the trophy dash. For those wanting to catch some midweek racing action, Mark will be racing the open car in Jacksonville (IL) Thursday night in a $2000 to win UMP special at Morgan County Speedway. Next weekend's racing action to include I-55 Speedway in Peverly, MO (UMP Weekly) on Saturday night and Quincy Raceways (IMCA) on Sunday night.
18-Jul-2008: Yet another rain out - in July nonetheless! Last night's races at Lee County Speedway were rained out - a make up date for the IMCA Late Models will be set. We will not be racing at Wheatland Saturday night as the team is still in the process of putting the primary open motor back in the UMP race car. Next race: Quincy Raceways on Sunday evening. See you at the track.
