Rich Lane, Crew Chief – Rich began helping Mark in the 1980s.  After the passing of Mark’s father in 1993, Rich stepped into the role of crew chief.  Rich lives in Quincy, IL with his wife Donna and works at Gem City Ford as the Parts Manager.

 

Rick Ingalls, Engine Mechanic – After racing himself in the early 1990s, Rick decided his talents would best be applied helping Mark rather than competing against him.  Rick owns and maintains the motors powering the Nelson Motorsports Burgtorf Racing #7.  Rick lives in Liberty, IL with his wife Tammy and owns and operates Ricks Transit Repair.

 

Dan Derhake, Pit Steward – Dan began helping Mark in the mid 1980s.  Dan’s primary responsibilities include helping Mark maintain the car during the week and serving as the Pit Steward at racing events.  Dan lives in Quincy, IL with is wife Vicky and works with Mark in Blessing Hospital’s Operations Group.

 

Jeff Carter - Jeff has helped Mark since 1984; Jeff lives in Quincy, IL with his wife Theresa and owns and operates Summy Tire, a secondary sponsor of the Nelson Motorsports Bugrtorf Racing #7.  At the track, Jeff’s primary duties involve prepping the team’s Hooiser Racing Tires.

 

Bernie BasteanBernie has helped Mark since the late 1980s primarily in the area of body fabrication; Bernie lives in Quincy, IL with his wife Mary and works at Sharkey Transportation in their logistics/dispatch department.

 

Mark Robeson – “Robie” has helped Mark since the early 1990s; Mark lives in Quincy, IL with his wife Laurie, daughter Samantha and son Blake.  He is the parts manager at the Prairie/Archway International Truck Dealership.

 

Andy MannAndy has helped Mark since the early 1990s; Andy lives in Fowler, IL with his wife Tammy, son Ryan and daughter McKenzie.  He owns and operates Mann Flooring.

 

Jerry Derhake – Gerry has helped Mark since the early 2000s and primary assists by driving the race car hauler to and from the track.  Gerry lives in Quincy, IL with his wife.  He is retired after serving more than twenty years for the Quincy Fire Department.

 

Todd Nelson, President of Nelson Motorsports – Todd began helping Mark in 1994 while a senior in high school serving as a dedicated crew member that summer and for two summers thereafter.  Throughout college and his career thereafter as a public accountant in Des Moines, IA, Todd has helped Mark at the track when he is able to attend racing events.  Today, Todd serves as the President of Nelson Motorsports, owns the Nelson Motorsports Burgtorf Racing #7 driven by Mark Burgtorf and assists the team in marketing and business operations of the racing enterprise.  Todd resides in New York City and works for Goldman Sachs as an investment banking associate.
